Jo Jensen

Jo Jensen has over a decade of experience designing award winning digital marketing campaigns. She has led grassroots strategies for political campaigns, national PR firms, nonprofits and movies. An invited speaker at the White House, Jo's work has been featured in several national news outlets including the Wall Street Journal, IndieWire, LA Times, Washington Post, NPR, CNN, Good Morning America and People Magazine.

A serial entrepreneur, Jo has created three successful companies and Jo | Co is her fourth venture. The vision for Jo | Co is to apply grassroots and digital marketing strategies to disrupt the traditional film distribution landscape. Her mission is to team up with filmmakers to foster a community of movie fans, both online and offline, through powerful storytelling, partnerships, recognition and gamification.

Jo is formerly the founder and CEO of the film marketing company Causeumentary, winner of the WeWork Creator Award. Jo has experience leading several successful audience acquisition campaigns for documentaries including Crown Heights (Sundance Winner), SlingShot (Sundance Selection), Tickling Giants (Tribeca Selection), After Spring (Tribeca Selection), I Voted? (Tribeca Selection), Salam Neighbor (AFI Docs Selection), and Poverty, Inc. (Paris’ FIFE Winner).

In 2015, PR News named Jo one of 40 “Rising PR Stars” while she was the Associate Vice President of Digital Media at the Washington, DC public affairs firm DDC (acquired by FleishmanHillard). Jo helped pioneer DDC's digital practice by developing and overseeing several successful PR campaigns. In the ever changing digital space, Jo mastered social listening tools and visual storytelling to make an impact and shape the digital narrative for clients. She is a frequent speaker on "Brands Rocking Social Media.”

Before jumping to the PR world, Jo served as the Marketing Director at Freethink, where she developed engagement strategies that resulted in breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest film screening in history with a turnout of 28,442 people at the movie premiere of Honor Flight. A congressional speechwriter at 15 years old and the director of a multi-million dollar advocacy organization at age 19, Jo has been involved in politics at a national level for 18 years. Jo founded two grassroots organizations dedicated to educating young people on free-market principles; Generation Opportunity and Students for Saving Social Security (S4). From 2005 to 2008, she worked closely with the White House and Congressional leaders to host educational events for young people on Social Security reform. Her work engaging young voters during the 2008 presidential primaries was featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. At Generation Opportunity, Jo created and oversaw Facebook pages comprised of over 2.5 million millennials.

Jo currently lives in Denver, Colorado with her rescue dog, Franklin.
